Daily Sight Reading is essential
Choose a variety of keys and rhythms from the material below.
Print out or play sitting or standing in front of the screen.
Even plucking a few of these each day is helpful.

 Apply these Sight Reading Skills:
  1. Know the key and its sequence of finger patterns. 
  2. Say or clap any difficult rhythms before starting.
  3. Feel the beat (at a realistic speed) before starting and keep it going
  4. Read ahead.
  5. Read by interval.
  6. Keep playing, no repetitions.  Sight reading is not for fixing mistakes. If you want to play the piece better, work on it after the initial sight reading.
